Victoria Capital Management launches Shariah-compliant hybrid multi-asset portfolio

Victoria Capital Management has launched Perennial, a new segregated portfolio combining equities, sukuk and commodities with algorithmic asset allocation and human investment judgement.

Victoria Capital Management (VCM) has launched Perennial, a Shariah-compliant segregated portfolio established under the Cayman Islands-based Skye Investment Fund SPC.

The portfolio is designed to pursue long-term capital appreciation and income through a hybrid multi-asset strategy spanning equities, sukuk and commodities. According to VCM, allocation decisions will combine an internally developed algorithmic model with the judgement of its investment team.

Perennial will invest only in instruments assessed as Shariah-compliant at the point of investment and on an ongoing basis, following investment guidelines issued by its Shariah adviser, Amanie Advisors.

The structure is also notable. Rather than launching as a standalone fund vehicle, Perennial has been established as a segregated portfolio within Skye Investment Fund SPC. The structure provides statutory asset segregation and gives the portfolio its own share classes, fee arrangements and Shariah governance framework.

Amanie Advisors, based in the Dubai International Financial Centre, will act as Shariah adviser, providing screening, compliance monitoring, ongoing advice and annual certification. Mauritius-based AlphaInvest has been appointed investment adviser, while VCM acts as investment manager.

VCM said the launch extends the Skye platform into Shariah-compliant investing while combining systematic and discretionary approaches to portfolio construction.
